Eldest son of Samuel Halsall and Charlotte Field.
Born on 15th August 1889 at Longwood, Victoria.
He married Anastasia known as "Annie" Withers in 1913 . They had two sons Clifford William b 1914 and Ronald George b 1919, both of whom served in WW2. Daughter Verna Anastasia b 1922
