Eva was the third of seven children of Edward Lockier Broad (born 1888 in Irwin, WA) and Rebecca May McGilvray (born 1891 in Geraldton, WA). Edward - a Farmer at Mingenew - married Rebecca at Geraldton in 1912. Edward and Rebecca raised their family at Manarra Farm in Mingenew, WA.

Eva enlisted in the RAAF in 1942 and was an Aircraftwoman (Service No:99920) attached to 4 Aircraft Depot when she was Discharged in March 1946. In 1947 Eva married Peter George Reginald Brennan (born 1919 in Busselton, WA) - Peter had also served in the RAAF (Aircraftman; Service No:210056).

Eva and Paul lived in Mt Barker and Goomalling before seetling in Bunbury in the early 1960s. Eva died in 1992 and Peter in 2007.
