Son of James and Emma Lepp; husband of Frances Lepp, of 15, Clissold St., Ballarat.
Pte Victor S. Lepp (previously reported missing) was killed in action on 26th August, 1916. He was the second son of Mrs Emma Lepp and the late James Lepp, of 19 Young street. He enlisted in April, 1915, and left for the Front in June, 1915, with the 21st Battalion. He was on the Southland when torpedoed, and was in the trenches at Gallipoli for five months. From Gallipoli he went to Egypt, and while out skirmishing he took ill, and was admitted to the hospital on 23rd March, 1916. On leaving the hospital, he was transferred to France, and was in the fight at Pozieres on the 4th August, and went through without a scratch. On the 26th August he went into trenches again, and was killed. He was educated at the Golden Point School, and started work at Farmer's, ham and bacon curers, where he was employed right up till the time of enlisting. The fallen soldier has two brothers at the Front. One brother won the Military Medal on the 4th August for bravery at Pozieres.
