Military Medal
'On the 8th June, 1917, near PLOEGSTEERT WOOD, this N.C.O. showed great gallantry in taking a message through a heavy barrage to the R.M.O. At SCHNITZEL FARM. He also with No. 12026 Private A. MOSS on 9th June, 1917, went to the assistance of a man who had been blown up by a shell near SCHNITZEL FARM, and by rendering first aid under heavy fire undoubtedly saved this man's life and enabled him to be brought to the advanced dressing station.'
