14 Oct 1917: | Honoured Distinguished Conduct Medal, Citations reads: For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He went forward alone under heavy fire, and entered a sap containing an officer and a party of the enemy. He threw a bomb among them, killing the officer, and brought back the remainder, thirteen in all, to his own lines.
