Mr William Dickson Middleton, an old resident of the Bussleton district, died at Bussleton on June 11. Deceased, who was one of the best known timber men in the State, had been ill for some time as the result of injuries of the late war.
In the flourishing days of the Karridale timber mills, he was a trusted employee of the M. C. Davies Company. Subsequently he acted in varying capacities for Millars Timber and Trading Company, in Western Australia, and for some years held responsible posts at Shanghai and in Siberia. Prior to his last illness he held the position of manager at Millars, Marrinup mill. He served with the 51st Battalion in the A.I.F., and was 51 years of age.
The funeral took place on Friday afternoon, when the remains were laid to rest in the Anglican portion of the Busselton cemetery.
