My Dad My Hero
My Dad Graeme Albert "Bones" Stevens served nearly 23 years in the Army in various roles. He was a 2 tour veteran of the Vietnam War proudly serving with A Coy 1RAR on both tours. Wounded in action more than once, he never wanted to let his mates down and was always keen to get straight back into the fight, even convincing my Mum to write a letter to his CO saying he was good to go back to the Battalion after he was sent home wounded. My Dad loved 1RAR and taught our whole family the importance that all current and former service members have played in shaping our country into the best in the world. He passed away in 2014 and I miss him terribly. He was and always will be my Hero.
