John Bamford Blagdon HALE was born in Geraldton, Western Australia in 1884
His parents were Robert Owen HALE & Elizabeth Mary GALLAGHER
He enlisted in Blackboy Hill, WA on 7th September, 1915 and embarked from Fremantle with the 28th Infantry Battalion on the HMAT Medic on 18th January, 1916 - he returned to Australia on 28th August, 1919
John died of Illness in the No. 11 Repatriation Ward in Perth Hospital and is buried in the Karrakatta Cemetery

His brother Walter Bamford HALE (SN 51) served in the 10th Light Horse Regiment and returned to Australia in 1916
