Mervyn Stafford BLYTH was born in Bellerive, Tasmania on 22nd May 1892

His parents were Arthur Tabrum BLYTH & Rosina CAVEY

He enlisted in Claremont, Tasmania on 30th January, 1915 and embarked from Adelaide on 2nd June 1915 on HMAT Botanist with the 3rd Light Horse Regiment - 5th reinforcements

He was Killed in Action during the battle of Magdhaba in Egypt on 23rd December, 1916 - he is buried in the Kantara War Memorial Cemetery
