Died on this date - 14th November......Private Arthur Ernest Proud was born at Ballarat, Victoria in 1883. He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (A.I.F.) on 4th September, 1916 as a 33 year old, married, Plumber with 3 children.
Private Proud joined 21st Battalion at the War Front on 6th December, 1917. He was wounded in action on 19th May, 1918 & invalided to England where he recovered & was posted to No. 3 Command Depot at Hurdcott, Wiltshire.
Private Proud was sent to Group Clearing Hospital at Sutton Veny on 3rd November, 1918 with Influenza. He died at 10.00 hrs on 14th November, 1918 at the Military Hospital, Sutton Veny of Influenza & Pneumonia.
