Son of Arthur Thomas Uffindel and Hephsibah Uffindel nee Halliday of Clare, SA.

Husband of Edith Eveline Uffindel nee Ridgway of Robert Street, North Unley, SA. Sydney and Edith married on 4 December 1901 at the residence of John Ridgway, New Parkside, SA. 

Commenced return to Australia on 22 November 1919 aboard HT Aeneas disembarking on 6 Janaury 1920
