Albert Henry Sapwell was born on the 13th of July 1882. He was an orchardist and farmer. He was 5ft 10'.
Albert's orchard was 10 acres.

He signed up for the war on July 1st, 1915, at the age of 33 not realising the harsh reality of war and its consequences. Albert returned home from a tough fight in France on the 9th of September, 1916.
His official reason for dicharge was that he was, 'medically unfit'. Specific details of injury are unknown.
Albert boarded His Majesty's Australian Transports (HMAT) A16 Star of Victoria ship, which carried the First Australian Imperial Force on the way to France.
Albert Sapwell felt inclined to participate in the war due to military history in previous generations of his family.
