Willoughby Baxter Montgomery FOREMAN was born in 1891 at Hampden, Western Australia

His parents were Edward Frank FOREMAN and Edith Mabel MONTGOMERY who married on 24th September, 1888 in WA

He had previous service of 2 years & 5 months in the 18th Light Horse before he enlisted in Blackboy Hill on 19th January, 1915 - he embarked with the 11th Infantry Battalion, 4th Reinforcements        (C Company) on 19th April, 1915 from Fremantle on the HMAT Argyllshire

He was transferred to the AIF Canteen unit on 26th May, 1916 & promoted to Corporal on 1st January, 1917 - later promoted to ER Sergeant on 1st June 1918 and reverted to Private on 22nd July, 1918

Willoughby returned to Australia from Suez due to debility on 22nd December, 1918 on the HT Leicestershire  & was discharged on 10th March, 1919

In 1953 he married Alma Doreen DANGERFIELD in Canning, WA

He died on 20th April, 1961 in Kenwick, Western Australia and is buried in Karrakatta Cemetery. He was awarded the 1914-15 Star, British War Medal & the Victory Medal.

His brother , Donald Montgomery FOREMAN (SN62807) also served in WW1 and was discharged in 1919
