Commenced return to Australia on 6 November 1918 aboard HT Marathon disembarking on 1 January 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Sydney

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Fathered ex-nuptial child in 1919 with a Miss Iris Gosse of London, England

On 15 December 1952 while living in Tamworth, NSW John wrote to Base Records stating that following the death of his parents he had found it necessary to change his name by deed poll to John Post. He later moved to Port Kembla, NSW in 1935
