Personal Stories
HG Jorgensen, Uncle and Fisherman in Cairns.
Roll shows 11th Battalion Enlisted 2.4.1917 and discharged 31.8.1919. There was a photo in my Grandmother's house at 117 Aumuller St of my Uncle in uniform but he never talked about it. He had a dry sense of humour and was a good story teller.
I knew him as a handline fisherman up to Princess Charlotte Bay in his wooden boat, Janet. He died in Cairns in 1984.
