Sudan (1885) Service

3 Mar 1885:	Embarked Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, 1200, New South Wales Contingent - Sudan, Driver Geo. P. Rauchle [1200] NSW Field Artillery embarked from Sydney for Soudan (Sudan). Reached Sudan's port of Saukin to anchor on 29 March 1885.
29 Mar 1885:	Involvement Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, 1200, New South Wales Contingent - Sudan, Sudan, The Artillery were posted to Handoub where, having no enemy close enough to engage, they drilled for a month.
17 May 1885:	Embarked Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, 1200, New South Wales Contingent - Sudan, R.T.A on SS Arab, arriving back in Sydney on 19 June 1885. They had to disembark at the North Head Quarantine Station as a precaution against disease.
24 Jun 1885:	Involvement Australian and Colonial Military Forces - Boer War Contingents, 1200, New South Wales Contingent - Sudan, Sudan veterans marched through Sydney in their new khaki uniforms for a civic reception at Victoria Barracks.
