William Vincent Adamson was born in 1887 at Brighton, the son of William Addison Adamson and his wife Lucy Jackson. William attended Melbourne Grammar School in 1904. William was a Stock and Station Agent when he enlisted on 28 July 1915 and embarked as a Driver in 10th Battery 4th Field Artillery Brigade he Unit embarked from Melbourne,
Victoria, on board HMAT A18 Wiltshire on 18 November 1915.
He arrived in Egypt on 10 December and in France in March 1916. In June 1917 he was admitted to hospital with Scabies. William took part in operations with his battery in France and Flanders from then until 25 March 1918 when he was gassed and was admitted to 14 General Hospital before being transferred to England and transferred to 3rd Auxiliary Hospital in Dartford.
He returned to Melbourne on board H T Orca on 19 February 1919 and was discharged 31 May 1919.
In the Electoral Rolls from 1927 till 1942 William is listed as a Farmer at Kaarimba [near Wunghnu]. Then in 1942 he is listed as a Farmer living at Wilson Street in Brighton. In 1954 he is living at Acland Street in South Yarra with no occupation given. William died 8 November 1959 and was buried in the family grave at the Brighton Cemetery at Presbyterian G Grave 52. - courtesy of Lois Comeadow

W. V. ADAMSON enlisted on 27th July and embarked as Driver in 10th Battery 4th F.A. Brigade on 9th November 1915. He arrived in
Egypt on 10th December and in France in March 1916 and took part in operations with his battery in France and Flanders from then until
25th March 1918 when he was gassed.
He returned to Australia on 8th April and was discharged on 31st May 1919.
