Rector of St Thomas Parish Enfield 1939 - 1952

REV. F. A. S. BOYDEN
The Rev. F. A. S. Boyden, Rector of St. Thomas', Enfield, passed away on Friday, 8th inst. at the Repatriation Hospital, Concord, at the age of 60 years. Mr. Boyden had been in declining health for some time but his sudden collapse was unexpected.
Deceased served as an Infantry officer, of the 19th Battalion, of which he was an original member, throughout the first World War, was wounded at Poziers, and after returning to  duty was appointed second-in-charge of his Battalion at the early age of 27.
Mr. Boyden entered Holy Orders and was ordained a Priest of the Church of England in 1932. After serving as Rector in several centres including St. John's Church, Parramatta, he passed the last 13 years of his life at St. Thomas'. The Centenary of the Church took place during his ministry. Interment took place in St. Thomas' Church Yard, after a service at  the Church, conducted by the Rev. C. M. Mell. The Bishop Co-adjutor, Right Rev. W. G. Hilliard, officiated at the graveside. The Rev. Boyden was a brother of Mr. N. L. Boyden, of 'Wilford,' Wellington. His untimely death will be deeply regretted by his friends in Wellington and elsewhere.
