Military Medal
'While on duty at TAYLOR's DUMP, Eat of YPRES on 3rd October, 1917, the enemy started shelling, and shells were falling in a corner of the dump, one package of ammunition had been struck, but did not explode. This N.C.O. on his own initiative got a party and removed a quantity of ammunition from the danger area under the continued shelling. By his action, he probably saved a considerable quantity of ammunition from destruction and showed fine courage and devotion to duty, worthy of special recognition.'
