Son of John Zeller and Ann Zeller nee Nixon of Chinchilla, QLD.
Brother of Alfred Zeller who returned to Australia on 20 August 1919 having served with the 8th Field Company Engineers; Thomas Zeller who was killed in action on 7 October 1917 and is buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Plot XX111, Row A, Grave 6; George Herbert Zeller who died of wounds on 9 Apirl 1918 while serving with the 25th Battalion and is buried in the Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Plot 1V, Row E. Grave 3.
Returned to Australia on 15 February 1919 aboard HT Karmala disembarking at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane.
