Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Alfred and Mary Brimble, Millthorpe, New South Wales

KILLED IN ACTION.
Word was received on Saturday by the Rev. R. H. Kelly, to the effect that Pte.Thomas Brimble had been killed in action on April 6. He had been in the fighting for over two years,  and served in the Gallipoli campaign. He was the son of Mr. Alfred Bimble, and was well known, having spent his life here. No particulars are to hand regarding him, but some time  back news was received that he had been wounded in action, and he must have recovered and returned to the front. The greatest sympathy is expressed for his father in his sad  bereavement.

The following letter has been received by Mr. Alf Brimble, in reference to the death of his son, Pte Tom Bimble, who was killed in action in France:—"With deep regret I write to tell you a little about the death of your son, Pte. T. Brimble, No. 5342 of the 45th Battalion, who nobly fell in action on 5/4/18. I feel sure you will be comforted to know that your son  met his death like a true Australian soldier and a brave man. God rest his soul in peace. He was buried with several of his comrades just near where he fell, and later, I trust, a  suitable cross will be placed over his resting place. Please allow me to express my heartfelt sympathy with you in your great loss, and believe me to be, yours sincerely, T. H.  Justice, chaplain."
