Son of Timothy ROWE and Lyda Beatrice nee HASTWELL of Two Wells, SA

Rowe Arnold Roy was born on May 7th, 1897, in Two Wells South Australia. Before the war he lived with his Father Timothy Rowe and his Mother Lydia Beatrice Hastwell and 5 siblings (3 sisters, 2 brothers). He attended Two Wells Public School in the early 1900s before leaving school in his mid-teens to work as a Dairyman on his family’s property
Rowe Arnold Roy enlisted the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) on the 31st of March 1916 aged 18. After basic training he embarked 24 August 1916 from Port Adelaide on HMAT A40 Mooltan bound for Egypt. Rowe served in the Middle East. He survived the war and embarked home to Australia 15 May 1919.
Arnold passed away on the 22nd of December 1986, from natural causes. His name is forever honoured on his local community War Memorial Mallala Two Wells.
