Brother Edmund Downer (B2455) served with the 1st Artillery Brigade and returned to Australia in 1919. Brother in laws were Victor Albert Ayers 4th Battalion RTA 1915 ill from Gallipoli. Charles Thomas Ayers 55th Battalion KIA Ypres 1917. Sydney Winton Ayers, Pilot 68th Squadron Royal Flying Corp DOW Bourlon Wood 1917.
