Biography contributed by Paul Trevor

Enlisted for Service aged 15 years and 6 months.

Private Samuel (Percy) Silk declared, which is recorded on Page 31 of his Attestation Paper and Service Record (recordsearch.naa.gov.au) that he was in fact 15 years of age when enlisting for military service with the Australian Imperial Force in 1915.

Recorded personal information regarding his death from the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages (online.justice.vic.gov.au), when compared to the United Kingdom Birth Marriage Death (BMD) (www.freebmd.org.uk) seems to corroborate his statement.
