Son of Christopher Anderson, 11 Redline Street, Rozelle, Sydney, New South Wales
John enlisted in the Permanent Naval Forces on 23 January 912 and saw war service in the North Sea and West Indies serving on HMAS Mebourne. He witnessed the surrender of the German Navy.
Another brother T.S. Anderson also served in the Permanent Naval forces from 23 January 1912 and escorted the 1st Division ot Egypt in August 1914.
