Son of Catherine Quinlivan of Crystal Brook, SA.

Brother of John Quinlivan who returned to Australia on 27 May 1919 having served with the 1st Machine Gun Battalion and Joseph Edward Quinlavin who returned to Australia on 30 August 1919 having served with the 5th Pioneer Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 28 February 1919 aboard HT Anchises disembarking on 7 April 1919
