Alan WHITFIELD was born in Telegberry via Stroud, NSW on 25th February, 1916
His parents were Wesley Frank WHITFIELD & Mabel Mary LOVE who married in Brisbane on 22nd April, 1915 - he was their only son
He married Audrey Jean WILKINS in Sydney in 1940 - 3 known children , Helen, Patricia & Julie
He served with the Royal Australian Navy Volunteer Reserve & was appointed as a Sub Lieutenant on 22nd June 1942 & discharged on 28th June 1946 (HMAS Kuttabul, Royal Naval Base in Sydney
Alan died after a short Illness, late of Collaroy in Sydney on 26th June 2012 and was privately cremated

His father Wesley Frank WHITFIELD was born in Birmingham, England & served during WW1 with the Australian Forces
He was a Captain with the 11th Light Horse Regiment and was Killed in Action in Palestine on 25th June 1918
