Son of Frank Broomfield Rathbone and Isabella Rathbone nee Rigaud of Granton, Tasmania; brother of Lucy Rigaud Rathbone and Percy Rigaud Rathbone who served with the 40th Battalion and is buried in the Wimereux Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France

NOTE: The second given name of this soldier was incorrectly transcribed. The Attestation Paper within the Service Record and the Roll of Honour Circular completed by his Father clearly indicate the correct second given name is RIGAUD.
