MAN FATALLY CRUSHED.
Clarence William Henry Bignell (46), single, of Comer-street, Como, was fatally injured yesterday about 3.30 pm while engaged in his duties as an employee in the store of the Government Printing Office. Several bales of paper, said to weigh about 15cwt, fell on him. He was taken by the St John ambulance to the Perth Hospital, where he died at 4.15 pm from a perforated lung and a fracture of the spine.

Before Mr W. Schofield, JP, Act ing-Coroner, and a jury of 3, an inquest was held on Wednesday at the Perth Courthouse into the death of Clarence William Henry Bignell (46), single, of Comer-street. Como, who was fatally injured at the Government Printing Office when several bales of paper fell on him.  After taking evidence the Acting-Coroner and the jury visited the Government Printing Office to determine whether the vibration of an overhead crane might have caused the bales of paper to become loosened. They found that Bignell died at Perth on November 4 from injuries received as a result of bales' of paper accidentally falling on him during his employment at the Government Printing Office. The following rider was added: "We are of opinion that frequent inspections of the wedges should be made to ensure safety of the stacks of paper. We find no evidence of vibration in the building,"
