On 20 February 1912 Arthur married  Ellen Blanch Sparshott in QLD. Address at the time of enlistment was given as C/- Sparkshott, Brisbane Street, Ipswich, QLD

Commenced return to Australia on 13 July 1919 aboard HT Persic disembarking on 2 September 1919 at Sydney for onward travel to Brisbane
