Son of Samuel Fuge and Sarah Fuge of Carcoar, NSW. Brother of Robert Fuge, William Alfred Fuge, Mary Fuge, John Fuge, Albert E. Fure, Ethel Elizabeth Fuge of Koorawatha, NSW who was later named as next of kin, Harold T.S. Fuge, Leslie T. Fuge and Emily Fuge
During 1912c Joseph married Elizabeth A. Bunker at Crookwell, NSW. Elizabeth died later that year
