Son of Frederick B and Elsie Lillian Abbey of 17 Albert Street, Yarraville Victoria

Died of wounds to most of his body from a hand grenade and was buried at sea

Harold C. Abbey (22), was a member of B. Company, 14th Battalion, and a resident of 17 Albert street, Yarraville. He was the eldest son of Mr Fred. B. Abbey, and prior to enlisting was employed at the Oriental Timber Mills, Geelong, and was a well-known member of the Carlton Tent, I.O.R.
