Biography

"...3672 Private James Harlow Allinson, 24th Battalion. A labourer from Cowwarr, Victoria prior to enlistment, Pte Allinson embarked with the 8th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Afric on 5 January 1916. Later transferring to the 8th Battalion, he was wounded in action and evacuated to England. Due to the severity of his wound, he returned to Australia on 16 October 1916 and was medically discharged." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)
