HUGH, was the sixth child of John McMurdy,and Emma Jane Bailey,born 20 May 1898.
Hugh joined the 11th Light Horse Reg., and served overseas in Egypt and Gallipoli in WW1. After returning from the war, Hugh worked in a sawmill, and lost his fingers of one hand, in an accident at the sawmill.
Hugh, also had a fruit hand cart, and sold fruit and vegs in Queen St ,Brisbane.
Hugh married Constance Judge, on the 27 april 1929.
Hugh then went ringbarking around the Kumbia area.Constance and baby John lived with Isabella and William Porter, while Hugh was away ringbarking.
Hugh and Constance had four children.
Hugh died on the 2 August 1981.
