Son of John Orr and Kathleen (Kate) Mary Bernice Orr nee Walshe of Humffray Street south, Ballarat East, Victoria formerly of Horsham, Victoria.
Brother of Charles Walshe Orr who returned to Australia on 11 October 1918 having served with the 1st Mobile Veterinary Section and Ronald Page Orr who returned to Australia on 18 September 1917 having served with the 8th Battalion
Returned to Australia on 22 December 1915 aborad HS Runic as wounded later returned to the western front
Commenced return to Australia on 16 January 1919 aboard HT Berrima disembarking on 17 February 1919
