He enlisted in Melbourne on 11th December, 1914 and embarked from Melbourne on the HMAT Palermo on 7th May, 1915 with the 8th Light Horse Regiment
Hubert was Killed in Action at Gallipoli on 7th August, 1915 - no known grave
