His parents were William McClure ABERNETHY and Margaret MCAINSH who married in victoria in 1892


His brother Keith Forbes ABERNETHY  (SN W87602) served in WW2 (Captain) and was discharged in 1945

Another brother Lorne Campbell ABERNETHY (SN V374392) served in WW2 and was discharged in 1945
