September 11 1923 he was appointed Secretary of the RSL of Australia South Australia Branch.  He had worked as a State and Civil servant - particulary with the Rehabilitation Department.  He had also served on th Board of the RSL in South Australia.  He enlisted in 1915 and activley served with the 43rd Battalion. as a corporal.  He gained a commission and a Military Cross. He was amember of the 11th Field Ambulance Club.
