Tragedy that never stopped.
Before enlistment, Henry was working as a skin trader on a sheep property named Quandong Park in the town of Collie.
He enlisted at Penrith and had a photo taken in his equipment.
After his passing, his father John passed away that year.
One of his older brothers, Jack was killed by a train the next year.
Another brother, William, left for Queensland permanently.
A third brother, James, suffered a head injury that lead to cognitive decline and loss of his career as a minister.
His mother's, Julia, house suffered a fire that destroyed many letters and photos, with the rest succumbing to white ants.
Letters after his passing often referenced the loss of Henry as a loss of the family and that theme continues today with no more children heirs and so loss of the family name.
