Adye was underage when he enlisted.

Son of William Thomas Viney and Alice Jane Viney nee Huett of Clarendon, Tasmania.

Brother of Vernol Lionel Viney who returned to Australia on 10 May 1919 having served with the 1st Machine Gun Battalion

Commenced return to Australia on 4 June 1919 aboard HT Bremer disembarking on  25 July 1919 at Melbourne for onward travel to Hobart

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Husband of Harriett Lichfield Vuney nee Robinson of Garfield Street, Launceston, Tasmania. Adye and Harriet married during 1918 in Uxbridge, London, England.
