Old Soldier Dies

The death of Donald Lloyd Finey, a returned soldier from World War I was discovered on Saturday night last. When Sgt. Munro of Penrith Police and a representative of Penrith Ambulance went to his camp it would appear Finey had been dead for probably 18 hours.

The deceased lived in a tent on that section off Kingswood Road where there are a number of tent dwellers.

He was about 65 years of age, and well known here. He received a pension for his disability from the First War.

R.S.L. Secretary John Jones had just completed ascertaining details of his Army service—he was No. 2028, a private in the 32nd Battalion—so that Don Finey could join the sub-branch.

Burial took place at the Church of England portion of Penrith cemetery, the Rev. A. E. Hodgson, rector of St. Stephen's conducting the service.

Several members of the sub- branch attended the funeral, arrangements for which were made by Messrs. John Price and Son.
