Victor Leopard Wyett was born on the 1st of September 1889 in Thebarton, South Australia. Victor's school life is yet to be discovered. His occupation was as a Motor Driver. Victor’s parents were Eliza Alice Field and Robert Wyett. He had six siblings: Gordon Bickford, Nigel Keith, Percy Granham, Sidney Field and Vera Alice Teresa Wyett. His wife was Violet Elizabeth Hook whom he married on the 18th of August, 1916 in the Holy Trinity Church, Adelaide.

Victor enlisted as a soldier in the AIF on June the 1st 1916 in Adelaide, South Australia. On the 28th of August 1916 he was enrolled for involvement with the 43rd Infantry Battalion. He embarked on the 28th of August, 1916 in Adelaide aboard the HMAT Anchises A68. The next year on the 13th of October 1917, he was transferred the 40th Infantry Battalion.

Victor was in action at Passchendale from the 4th to the 13th of October in 1917.  He was badly wounded by a shell only a short distance from his mate. Victor died and thus never made it back to Adelaide. Victor Leopold is now buried in the Tyne Cot Cemetery, Passchendaele, Flanders, Belgium. The burial number is XX11, Row B, Grave 11. Victor Leopold Wyett died at the age of 28 years old.     

Wyett was awarded a British War Medal and a Victory Medal.
