FOUND DEAD.
CAPTAIN F. T. LUKIN.
TRAGEDY AT CALOUNDRA.
A large circle of friends in Brisbane will learn with regret the news ot the death of Captain Francis Thellisson Lukin (a brother of Mr Justice Lukin), which occurred at Caloundra yesterday. Captain Lukin, who was staying at the hotel was absent from his room at 6 o'clock in the morning, when morning tea was brought round, and he also failed to appear at breakfast. A search was instituted and about 10 o'clock his body was found floating in the water, about a quarter of a mile from the hotel. The clothing was disarranged when the body was found, and there was a bullet wound over the heart. The ambulance and police took charge of the body, and it was taken to Landsborough, where a post mortem examination will be held. The late Mr Lukin, who was 50 years of age, was a native of Brisbane. He practised his profession as a solicitor in Maryborough prior to the war, in which he served with the rank of captain. After returning from the war Mr Lukin became associate to his brother, Mr Justice Lukin, and later to Mr Justice Macnaughton. The deceased leaves a widow and two children. The funeral, which will be of a private nature (no flowers by request) will leave St Mary's RC Church, Peel street, South Brisbane, this afternoon, at 3.30 o'clock, to the South Brisbane Cemetery.
