Elbert Louis Von Bibra (Seargent)

My Great-Great Uncle. 3rd Great Uncle to James Marshall and Joshua Marshall.

Elb enlisted in the AIF on the 20th May 1915, and embarked onthe HMAT Ajuna on the 4th June 1915 as part of the 15th Battalion, 6th Reinforcement.

He landed at Gallipoli on the 2nd of August 1915, where he was wounded 5 days later (7th Aug 1915) - gunshot wounds to left thigh and right knee.

On the Western Front, he was transferred to the 47th Battalion.

He was Killed in Action on the 30th of September 1917 at Westhoek Ridge during the Third Battle of Ypres.

Biography
