Edward was born in Jericho 17 June 1884 son of Joseph and Elizabeth Stacey.

He enlisted on 4 April 1916 in Burnie age 30.
His trade at the time was a biography operator.
He is commemorated in the Ceristy-Gaily French National Cemetry France.

Avenue of Honour Jericho where he had a metal plaque and tree. The plaque has been relocated in the Jericho Hall.

Reading through his military file it shows he did it hard, wounded more than twice and hospitalised poisoned with gas scarlet fever. Edward made the ultimate sacrifice, killed in action on 10 September 1918 aged 31. When he enlisted he left behind wife Maude and son.
