Private Stanley Fortescue Robinson (Service No:7537) enlisted in the AIF on 24 October 1916 and was atatched to 16th Infantry Battalion on 29 June 1917 when he embarked from Fremantle for Plymouth on board HMAT A30 Borda. Private Robinson served in France with the 16th, 44th and 11th Infantry Battalions, and on 16 June 1919 embarked from Southampton for the RTA on board HT Ormonde. He was atatched to 11th Infantry Battalion at Discharge on 23 August 1919. In WWII Private Robinson  served with the ACMF (Service No:W67732) - 2 (Fremantle) Battalion VDC - from 22 March 1942 to 1 October 1943.

Born in 1891 at Three Rivers in Roebourne WA, Stanley was fifth of eight children of William (Billy) Edward Robinson (b1858 in Brookton, WA) and Mary Frances Parker (b1861 in York, WA). Billy (a Station Manager) and Mary married in 1884 in Dangin, WA and lived at Mt Florence Station in Roebourne until the mid 1890's when they moved their family to Brookton where Billy was a Farmer.

Stanley was a Farm Hand in Brookton when he enlisted in the AIF in WWI, returning there and working as a Farmer. In 1924 in Bassendean, Perth WA, Stanley married Dorothy Irene Mann (b1893 in Tiboobra, NSW). Stanley and Dorothy settled in Brookton where Stanley was a Farmer before moving tp Perth in the mid 1930s. Stanley worked in Perth as a Labourer and Mail Officer with the Post Master General's Department, and was a Member of the Grand United Order of Tree Gardeners. Stanley died in 1967 and Dorothy in 1978.
