Brother of Harold Edwin O'Brien who returned to Australia on 30 October 1918 having served with the 15th Battalion

Commenced rerturn to Australia on 23 October 1918 aboard HT Port Lyttleton disembarking on 25 December 1918 at Melbourne for onward travel to Brisbane

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 13 February 1936 Robert married Christina Louisa Peters in QLD
