The brother 4979 Pte. Leslie Arthur Best (/explore/people/73081) of Pte Oswald H. Best returned to Australia on the 1 June 1919 and was discharged six weeks later from his period of enlistment with the AIF.

Pte Oswald H. Best's son N252829 Pte. Frederick Jack Best (/explore/people/797188) served part-time with the 10 Battalion Volunteer Defence Corp. from March 1942 until the end of the war.
