Death of Roy Eggins
Archdeacon Seymour received a telegram yesterday, from Colonel Luscombe, to the effect that Private R. H. Eggins had died from enteric fever on the 19th inst., and conveying the sympathy of the King and Queen, and Commonwealth Government. Mr. W. Eggins had heard quite recently from his son, who was amongst the third lot to proceed to the Dardanelles. He was a great favorite, and will be keenly missed at Alumny Creek. The Archdeacon will hold an In Memoriam service at Alumny Creek Hall to-morrow (Wednesday) evening at 7.45, when doubtless all of “Roy’s” friends will be present. - The Daily Examiner, Grafton, issue dated Tuesday August 31, 1915.
