Military Medal
'From 28th September to 1st October 1918 at BELLICOURT, NAUROY and MALAKOFF FARM, he displayed great bravery and devotion to duty. He assisted to collect and dress wounded in an open trench under continuous and heavy shell fire. Although himself badly shaken by a shell, he pluckily continued his work and was of invaluable assistance to the R.M.C. His courage and coolness under the most trying conditions helped very materially in the evacuation of the many wounded passing through the R.A.P. His courage and untiring devotion to duty are worthy of special recognition.'
